About this Recipe

I have completely jumped into the deep end of the air fryer pool and I love it!

I have never been one to deep fry food at home, so there are many things that we just don’t eat at home. The air fryer has opened up new foods for us at home and has added so much more! Not only do I have low-fat fried foods as an option but now even our restaurant leftovers taste better reheated.

I love healthy food that doesn’t taste like your missing out!

It is also so fast, I mean FAST. When I make toast now, I toast 8 slices at a time. We live 25 miles to the nearest small town so takeout lunches are not a thing for our family. We would typically have peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch. But with my air fryer quick, cheap, and easy lunches that are not pb&j can be enjoyed by everyone.

I know I’m so excited and going on here a bit, but my air fryer is just that awesome. I have friends who have different models from mine and I can’t stress enough how much better and easier mine is. If you want to see my full honest review click here.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Chicken Legs or Thighs Fresh or Frozen / Skin On
  • 1 tbsp Vegtable oil
  • 1 tbsp Paprika
  • 1 tbsp Old Bay Seasoning
  • 1 tbsp Recteq "Freakin Greek" or Head Country Original Seasoning
  • 1 tsp Chile Powder - (optional) For a little spice

Instructions

  • Defrost chicken if frozen. Pat chicken very dry.
  • Add chicken to a ziplock bag or large bowl.
  • Spritz chicken with vegtable oil.
  • Add dry seasonings together in a small bowl, add a small amount of salt and pepper. Stir with fork.
  • Add seasonings to legs and toss to coat well, get each wing covered in seasoning.
  • Let chicken rest with seasonings for at least 30 minutes, and up to 8 hours. Set out of refrigerator 30 minutes to an hour before "frying".
  • Set air fryer to 385º and the time to 35 min. Add chicken to air fryer basket and "fry". Turn chicken when the air fryer says to turn, and spritz with a small amount of olive oil. Return chicken to air fryer and finish cooking. Always temperature check poultry for doneness, you are looking for a final temperature of 165º in the thickest part of meat. Let rest for 5-10 minutes and serve with your favorite sides.

Notes

This recipe could be addapted for skin on chicken bread, however I have not tested the time and temp for that change. Also, I always pack the chicken legs in two rows and alernating this and thin ends to pack both rows tightly.
