Growing a Garden in the Heat of July!

Tips for getting through the heat, the dry, and looking forward to next season, FALL!!!!

Dealing with the heat, finding shade, maximizing watering.

As July sun pours its heat onto your garden, it can feel like a sizzling summer fiesta where the weeds are the life of the party, it’s time to embrace your role as a devoted plant parent and keep those greens flourishing. Water them at dawn is the key to making the most of your H20 budget, spread a layer of mulch to lock in that precious moisture, and consider draping a shade cloth over your tender plants to prevent them from wilting under the relentless sun. Moving containers to an area where the evening sun is blocked to provide some shade relief would be a great option to help those plants. But really I have found that mulch helps more than anything, so get creative with mulch choices available to you, think free cardboard?
